OwnHomeMap separates source-data reports from problems in its own preview or renderer. If a road, park, water feature, name, or geometry appears missing or wrong, first compare the generated preview with the selected place and extent. When the preview uses an OpenStreetMap-based source, contributors can edit eligible data and anyone can add a location-specific OpenStreetMap Note with useful local detail. OwnHomeMap does not control whether or when that community data changes. When the active source is Mapbox, the source is unknown, or the preview is cropped, fails to load, or renders a supported feature incorrectly, contact OwnHomeMap support with the place, screenshot, affected feature, and order number when relevant. Support can classify the case as source data, unsupported scope, or an OwnHomeMap rendering issue. No response or correction time is promised. A later source or renderer change does not update an existing download or print automatically; generate and inspect a new preview before ordering again.
Choose the right reporting path
- Source data
- For an OpenStreetMap-based preview, a location-specific Note or eligible community edit can describe a mapped error or omission.
- OwnHomeMap rendering
- Support reviews reproducible crop, loading, or supported-feature rendering problems in the current preview.
- Useful evidence
- Provide the selected place, affected feature, preview screenshot, and order number when one exists.
- Outcome
- The issue can be classified as source data, unsupported scope, or an OwnHomeMap rendering problem.
How a report is triaged
1. Reproduce the preview
Open the selected place and extent again, then record what is visible and what you expected to see.
2. Check the documented scope
Compare the feature with the supported road, water, and green-space rules before treating absence as an error.
3. Route the report
Use OpenStreetMap tools only for an OpenStreetMap-based source; use OwnHomeMap support for Mapbox, an unknown source, crop, loading, or renderer behavior.
4. Inspect a new render
After a confirmed source or renderer change, generate a new preview rather than relying on an existing file or print.
Report an OwnHomeMap preview or rendering problem
Use support for a Mapbox or unknown-source issue and for a reproducible OwnHomeMap preview or renderer problem. Use the tools below only when the preview is based on OpenStreetMap.
Contact OwnHomeMap supportLimits of the correction process
- OwnHomeMap does not control OpenStreetMap community decisions or the timing of source-data changes.
- An OpenStreetMap Note is a report for contributors to examine; it is not proof that the proposed change is correct.
- A source or renderer change does not alter an existing download, print, or completed order retroactively.
- No response, correction, deployment, or source-propagation time is promised by this policy.
