Circuit history
Silverstone is the birthplace of Formula 1. The first-ever Grand Prix was held here on May 13, 1950, on a former RAF airfield. Today, it's one of the fastest and most technical circuits on the calendar, with high-speed sequences like Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel that test driver courage.
Why this circuit is special
The British crowd is renowned as the most passionate in the world. Silverstone combines F1 history with some of the championship's most exciting corners. The Maggotts-Becketts complex is considered the finest sequence of corners in the world.
