Circuit history
Suzuka is the only figure-eight circuit on the F1 calendar, thanks to an overpass bridge. Designed by Dutchman John Hugenholtz in 1962, this unique layout combines fast corners (the Suzuka Esses) and technical sections. Japan has a deep passion for F1, and the atmosphere at Suzuka is always electric.
Why this circuit is special
The Suzuka Esses are considered the most flowing and satisfying sequence of corners in the world. The overpass, the final chicane, and the 130R test every quality of a driver. Suzuka has often been the stage for world titles decided on the final lap.
